Mother’s Day very soon
Thursday, April 29th, 2010 | Special occasions | 1 Comment
Mother’s Day will be celebrated in many parts of the world in the month of May and now is the time to be planning how you will recognise your mum on this very special day.
If you find yourself limited in time for shopping or perhaps the shops aren’t open when you’re not working, then shopping online might be the best option.
You can do a search at our card catalog for ‘mother’ and find over 180 cards with possibilities. Or create your own using Picture Plus.
Why not have a look now and start planning your card?
Finding reasons

I only recently joined Send Out Cards but I do know from experience, that to really learn how a business works and what its benefits are, you need to get involved and get active. One of the things I was told is that I should be sending cards regularly and for a little while there I was having to find ‘reasons’ but now I’m finding that the reasons are showing up. Why do you think that is?
As a professional speaker I sometimes tell my audience about the ‘RAS’ or the ‘recticular activation system’. What you think about you are drawn towards. Your mind acts like a magnet. This can work both negatively and positively. Think about the time you were learning to drive a car and you were told to ‘look out for….’ and whatever that thing was, you probably hit it, or almost, didn’t you? Or what about when you are researching the make and model of car you want to buy and suddenly everywhere you look, that car is on the road. It’s like suddenly everyone else has that car too. Not really, but it does mean that your mind is drawn towards what you think about and you readily notice these things.
The same will come in seeking out ways to grow and develop your business, whatever that business is. And so it is with Send Out Cards. Almost daily now I get phonecalls or emails from people and in passing conversation they tell me of something that later makes me realise I should let them know I’m thinking of them. And so I send a card…
Too soon to build a Christmas Card list?

Not really. There will be people you’ve done business with or connected with in some way earlier in the year and you may want to let them know you were thinking of them at Christmas time. But when that time of year comes it’s hard to try and remember everyone you did not want to forget!
There are some great tools online to help you Build Christmas Card lists. Check out these for example:
Manage Your Christmas Card List
It’s all very well making lists but what do you do with it then? Buy several packs or boxes of cards and start writing them all out.
How long does that take? And then it’s addressing the envelopes, sticking on stamps and taking them to the postbox.
What if I could show you a much simpler way to handle this?
What if you could build your list online gradually through the year complete with addresses, create one or several cards with your chosen images and message and then send to that list via that system online without having to leave your desk to go to the shops or the post office?
If you suffer writer’s cramp you’ll be very grateful for this system, or if you simply lack the time to write out all of those cards. It’s better to set up a system that helps you handle this job rather than just let it go and not let people know you’re thinking of them. If you would like a hand in getting this system set up, why not contact me?
Today is ANZAC Day
Sunday, April 25th, 2010 | Special occasions | 1 Comment
Here in Australia (and worldwide where there are Australians) we remember the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War on 25th April.
ANZAC is the acronym for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces became known as ANZACs, and that name remains to hold a lot of meaning today.
People go on parade marches around the country and also visit special places of remembrance as in Turkey where many of our people died.
If you want to let someone know you were thinking of them at this special time you can design your own card with a photo or drawing, or some kind of image and even include your own photo on the inside.

That was the title of a blogpost of a friend of mine whose brother had rung her to tell of a car accident he’d had – one where he probably shouldn’t have survived but did. Lyn then goes on to share other experiences and reminds her readers how important it is to keep in contact with people and let them know that you’re thinking of them and how you feel about them.
Kody Bateman (founder of Send Out Cards) shares his story of how he had ignored that inner prompting to contact his older brother, only to lose him shortly afterwards. He chose to never forget that lesson and to help others to take note of those promptings and make contact with those they care about. Today thousands of people worldwide are acting on those inner promptings and using cards and gifts to reach out to those they love.
I’ve had those promptings too. My best girlfriend died when she was only 21 – I ignored promptings for several weeks to contact her because I was so wrapped up in my own life, newly married and expecting a baby. I found out 5 months later she had killed herself and for years I wondered if I could have made a difference to her. I’ll never know. But it did make me take notice of those promptings and even today I try to make sure that happens regularly. There are still times when I miss the mark but now that I’ve joined Send Out Cards I’ve decided not to let that happen any longer. I’m making it a habit to send out a card daily to someone who means something to me and the best thing I like about it, is it costs very little.
I don’t have to go to the shops to buy up a pack of cards, I don’t have to go to the post office to buy stamps or put the cards in a letterbox. I can do it all from my home and I can even design my own cards.
Do you have people you care about? Would you like to make sure they know it? Why not send them a card today on me?

When did you last receive a card from someone? Did it make you feel special that someone took the time to select a card, write in it and then post it to you?
When did you last send a card to someone? How did it make them feel? Did they let you know?
I’ve had clients do this over the years and I’ve always appreciated it. I’ve kept the cards for a long time on my shelves in my office because they made me feel special and appreciated.
Would you like to do that for others?
How would you like to select the card you want to send from your computer and not have to go in search of suitable cards in the shops?
And then be able to write in the card and address it, to send from your computer instead of going to the post office? Ever got there and discovered you left the address at home? I have.
With Send Out Cards you can upload your database, or build a database up and have everyone’s contact details in one place. You can develop a system for sending cards to those you wish to know you were thinking of them. And we have thousands of designs for you to choose from, or you can design your own – I do!
